What Inspectors Saw During CVSA Roadcheck 2023
DOT Compliance Requirements to Meet for Roadcheck 2025
Running MVR checks on your drivers can help avoid surprise traffic or safety violations being revealed during the inspection process.
All CDL drivers considered “safety-sensitive” employees must participate in a DOT-compliant drug and alcohol testing program that includes pre-employment, post-accident, random, reasonable suspicion, and return-to-duty/follow-up testing.
Running a limited query on each of your drivers allows you to get ahead of violations reported to the Clearinghouse. If an inspector finds violations, the driver will be removed from their safety-sensitive duties until they have completed the return-to-duty process.
Inspectors require drivers to provide their CDLs/CLPs, medical examiner’s certificates, skill performance evaluation certificates (if applicable), and hours-of-service documentation during roadside inspections.
