If you employ drivers, there are big changes coming up to how you run background checks and look into their past employment. And if you’ve been around DOT compliance for more than a few days, you know the updated regulations are complicated.
Starting January 6, 2023, employers need to check the FMCSA Clearinghouse for a new hire’s drug and alcohol violations AND safety performance history going back three years. But there are still specific cases, especially for non-CDL drivers, that will need a manual process for reaching out to prior employers. And did you know that accidents and other moving violations aren’t recorded in the Clearinghouse?
We’ve been doing DOT compliance for more than 20 years, so we could go on and on, but you’d probably rather our team handle it for you. Foley makes it simple, so fill out the form below and keep stress off your plate in 2023.
