On a highway in North Carolina last Friday, a tractor-trailer unfortunately “slammed into bikers parked on the side of the road in Greensboro, N.C.,” according to an online news source. The bikers were en route to Atlanta.

Truck driver Daniel Serna was driving for EC Trucking Enterprises, a Florida-based trucking company. Serna, from Plantation, Florida, “is being charged with felony hit-and-run and misdemeanor death in connection to the crash.”

Unfortunately, two bikers died in this incident. One, Arnie Morris from Woodbridge and two, the well-known Ken Jefferson from Chesterfield.

Jefferson’s funeral is going to be held at St. Paul’s Baptist Church on Saturday, July 25 at 2 P.M. The family has set up a GoFundMe account, click here to visit, and you can also donate at your closest Wells Fargo branch (Ken (Networker) Jefferson memorial fund).  In addition, there will be a parade of bikers while Jefferson’s casket is carried from the church to the site of his burial.

After some initial investigations, EC Trucking Enterprises seems to have a clean record.

“According to federal records, the company only has one truck and one driver,” according to the online news source. “The sole driver listed for the company encountered two random safety checks within the last 24 months. The driver passed both of those checks. However, because of privacy policies, federal officials weren’t able to confirm if that driver was Serna.”

There is speculation that the driver could have fallen asleep at the wheel.
