Vivian Anthony, manager of two-truck Anthony’s Trucking out of Amite City, La., has complained to Truckstop.com about average-rate publication. “They have ruined the business,” she believes, by making this data available.
Why does she see it as a problem?
Because “brokers look at that [rate data] and go back to the customer and bargain from that rate,” said Anthony. “We do oversize, and just looking at the board, what we used to get paid for our six-axle – now they’re wanting to pay that on our 7-8 axle truck and trailer.”
Do you agree with Anthony?
