Operating Authority Compliance Service

Foley Services’ Operating Authority Compliance Service (OACS) can help your company save money while sparing it from unnecessary FMCSA audits.

As part of this service, we prepare a report that contains information (company name, address, number of driver, violations, accidents, etc.) that the DOT has on file about a company. OACS clients then review the information to make sure that it is accurate so that their companies are not negatively impacted for incidents involving other motor carriers.

The $149 annual fee for OACS often pays for itself. In fact, one OACS client saved $1,000 on insurance after clearing up some misinformation that appeared on her company’s report.

OACS clients frequently discover inaccuracies that are affecting their SafeStat rating. As most motor carriers know, a SafeStat rating is one of the few predictors that can help companies know when to expect a call from a Federal auditor. A poor SafeStat rating almost ensures that a motor carrier will be subject to a compliance review.

According to FMSCA, a major fault of the SafeStat system is that it relies on accident and roadside inspection data provided by states, which is at best varied and inconsistent. Since this “imperfect” data is being used to evaluate the safety of motor carriers, we encourage all of our clients to enroll in our Operating Authority Compliance Service.

In addition to the annual report, OACS clients receive recommendations for how to improve their safety ratings. We also refile clients’ MCS-150s on a biannual basis.
